COP27

COP27 is being held in Egypt, ruled by one of the most repressive regimes in world. The Egyptian Government intends to use the COP in order to both greenwash and whitewash its activities but the reality is that climate activists and opponents of the regime are often imprisoned and sometimes tortured and killed. For this reason the climate movement is boycotting COP27 and instead are holding protests in towns and cities across the world.

The London protest will take place at 12pm outside the Shell Centre on Southbank and we need it to be big, not least because our own Government are reneging on what were the inadequate promises they made at COP26 in Glasgow in 2021. The nearest station is Waterloo and the main entrance is almost opposite the Shell Centre. If you can, join the protest, also share this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCIx-MzPy-8.

We are also organising a photocall in Kent to show support for the COP27 protests. Bring banners and meet at 12:30pm outside Rianos, 33 Tonbridge Road, Maidstone ME16 8RX.
